WEEK 4 | 30 MAY 2022 - 3 JUNE 2022 | GRAPHING

WEEK 4

For whole this week, before the class officially begin, I prepared the relevant and easy post learning exercises, by referring to the DSKP standard and textbook syllabus. This is because, I need to ensure the learning objectives is achieved, when students able to complete and answer the exercises correctly.  During the small group discussion, I observed that F1 students are able to search for the answer in the textbook and discussed them in group. Unlike last week, in which the students are distributed in group randomly, today groups were arranged by the students themselves, and probably because of compatibility factors, the lesson was delivered more effectively.

The teaching and learning session continued with F4 students. They were involved in hands on practical session in graphing. I have to demonstrated and drew the procedure to guide students in this session. At the end of the session, all group able to obtain accurate data and results, as stated in the textbook. I realized that through out this activity, because students observes the changes happen in their graph. They able to relate the finding with the lesson, and when I summarized the data, students able to understand the lesson better.

We recall on some of the important concepts and keywords (which they done with learning it last week) So I gave them homework to draw the graph (by copying every single detail in the textbook) with correct labels and checked during the next class.

For Form 5 students, I start with some sharing on SPM 2021 result - how attitude towards studies correlate with their examination results. About 6 months left to SPM 2022 minus the holidays so they do not have much time actually to still play around and not focus in class.

We recalled on syllabus and gave them formative test to be completed during class and discuss right away. Majority of the students struggle to think out of the box and relate the questions with the concept which they have learned. I had to remind them to do extra revision on the topic. I gave them manilla card/ Mahjong paper for them to prepare group presentation - one subtopic for each group. I asked them to do presentation because this chapter involve a lot of terms with specific examples and it requires reading and some research for them to understand better.
